                            About Wine Fest

Wine Fest is Disabled Resource Services' main fundraising event. Disabled Resource Services empowers individuals with disabilities to achieve their maximum level of independence through services supporting advocacy, awareness and access to their community in Larimer and Jackson counties.

Founded in 1982, Wine Fest has earned the reputation as one of Colorado’s best organized and executed wine tasting events. The sampling of wines and beers is complemented by an excellent assortment of delicious foods including such items as oysters on the half shell, meat and pasta selections, cheeses, breads, fruits and sweets - plenty to eat and drink your fill. Over 500 varieties of domestic and imported wines from more than 150 wineries are poured, and we feature local talent by offering beer from the region’s three largest breweries.

Living with a disability, even a minor one, can be an extreme mental and physical challenge. A single disability can impact everything -- how you develop friendships, approach daily life, find independence, and find a means to live. Furthermore, disabilities often equal isolation, and at Disabled Resource Services we work to give our clients an advocate so they don’t have to navigate the world of living with a disability alone.

                            Who benefits from Wine Fest
Proceeds go to Disabled Resource Services to help people with all types of disabilities live in Larimer and Jackson counties. Each year, nearly 6000 people benefit from the services we provide. A private 501©(3) organization (tax exempt number 98-06075), Disabled Resource Services is one of ten centers for independence, certified annually by the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

                            Who Attends Wine Fest?
Wine Fest attracts people throughout Northern Colorado; from as far south as Colorado Springs to as far north as Wyoming and from several other states. We have recognized that 50% of attendees eat at area restaurants and shop during the Wine Fest weekend.

                            Why Support Wine Fest?
Your support helps this popular event continue to successfully raise funds for Disabled Resource Services to help people with disabilities live independently and as an integral part of our community. You will also be supporting an event that helps generate additional revenue in our community because Wine Fest is a conduit for attracting people to Northern Colorado.
                            Did you know....

For over 30 years, Disabled Resource Services has compassionately served the needs of members of our community who live with one or more disabilities and confront issues of poverty, discrimination and dependency.

The two programs we offer—Case Management and Access to Independence—successfully alleviate the stressful conditions in which our clients live, restoring independence, human dignity, and quality of life.

Nearly 97% of the people we serve live at or below poverty level due to the fact that they live on fixed incomes that are rarely adequate to meet their medical and most basic needs.

Disabled Resource Services is truly an agency of last resort, as we are the only Center for Independent Living (CIL) agency serving Larimer and Jackson counties.

Disabled Resource Services is the area’s only human service agency serving any disabled person, regardless of age or disability.

Disabled Resource Services also engages in advocacy on behalf of the disabled community, helping bring public focus and action to the needs and discrimination issues disabled individuals face daily.

Through the help of donors and work of our specially trained staff, Disabled Resource Services is highly successful in affecting positive changes in the lives of our clients.
