Volunteer jobs - 2012
We have a variety of volunteer job opportunities at Wine Fest 2012 before, during and after the event, as listed below. If you have enthusiasm by the bucketload, you're a people person with a can-do attitude, a sense of fun and a desire to give back to our community, then welcome aboard!
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE AGED 21 OR OVER TO PARTICIPATE IN WINE FEST.
Volunteer dress code: This year we're asking volunteers to wear black pants/skirts and a white shirt/blouse to create a recognizable and consistent look. Ribbons will also be issued to volunteers.
Ballroom entry for volunteers: Please note that only volunteers who are "on duty" will be allowed in the ballroom during VIP entry from 6pm-7pm.
Breaks: All volunteers on shifts longer than 3 hours will be given a short break mid-way through their shift.
Volunteer check-in: Please check in at Volunteer Check-in at least 15 minutes before your shift starts.

Water distributor
6:00pm - 10:00pm
Carry cases of bottled water to several ice tubs placed near the edges of the ballroom, replenish pitchers of water and baskets of crackers at the Wine Tasting stations which ring the ballroom. Requirements: Be able to lift 20-30#'s repeatedly for 4 hours. Waitressing/Bartending experience at a crowded venue is a plus!

Roaming auction bid assistants

Carry notebook laptop through ballroom and help patrons place electronic bids. Requirements: Be able to stand for extended periods. Friendly and outgoing (we may even have a prize for the Remote Bid Assistant that brings in the most bids)! A brief training will be provided at 5pm. Please check-in at volunteer registration before this time. Bidding for the VIP entry begins at 6pm. Some roaming bid assistants will be assigned to raffle or photo booth tables to collect fees.

Silent auction security & closedown

Auction Security: Secure silent auction tables. Assist guests with the stationary electronic bidding machines; Auction Closedown: Distribute silent auction items to winning bidders with paid receipts. Clear silent auction tables at end of the evening. Requirements: Be able to stand for extended time. Breaks included.

Greet & help set up all food vendors; direct vendors to correct floor space. Provide ice, water, electrical access, wine glasses (4:45 - 6:00). Report to food action stations each hour to assist with replenishing stations, etc. Requirements: Ability to stand, friendly, experience with food service a plus.
